Since the dawn of civilization, humans have been confronted with mysterious sightings around the world, from humanoids to UFOs.

However, what puzzled the US military was the sightings of aquatic humanoids. This is an aspect that has been left unexplored by researchers, and yet it is one of the most exciting and intriguing observations.
Military officers are generally trained for just about anyone and anything. However, there are still certain areas that are new even to highly qualified officers. Such a situation is what those military officers discovered under the waves of water.
Renowned researcher Linda Houlton Howe published a report in which she claimed that in 1968, an extremely strange encounter terrified US military personnel. A former US Army specialist, a military policeman then stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco, California, encountered an aquatic humanoid at Fort Baker in Marin County, California.
The witness identified himself as “David” and stated that at the time of the sighting, he was on patrol in Fort Baker at approximately 1 a.m., not far from the main facility and only about 20 feet from the water’s edge of San Francisco Bay. He was accompanied by one of his colleagues, and during the patrol, they suddenly noticed a passing movement in the dark and slowed down the vehicle, believing it to be a criminal.
Although they were right, however, he was not a common criminal, but a humanoid. The witness stated:
“When I braked, the vehicle lit that thing up. And it was a humanoid form. The only way I can describe it is if you’ve seen the movie, Creature from the Black Lagoon. He was very, very close to it. Very close. The head was slightly smaller, but the overall shape was very close to that creature. And he came out of the water and stood on the road. And when I put on the brakes, I could see clearly. And my partner came back and saw it.”
“It was a humanoid form, but it didn’t seem to be made of flesh. I could look at it, and it looks like it had some sort of lizard skin or something. But the skin was a little smoother. Its color was a sort of dark greenish brown. And he had broad shoulders, so he looked very healthy. He looked very strong and healthy because he was tall. I guess it was about 7 feet. It was a bit hard to appreciate, but not under 2 meters.”
“And as we looked at it, the creature sat there for maybe five seconds or ten seconds at the most and took off. I just saw him run, but he didn’t run back into the water, but to the rock that was there. There was a cliff to which he ran and disappeared! We were both a little shaken, to be honest. When I got to the rock, there was nothing there. I can’t imagine anyone being able to climb that rock, it was just like a wall.”
Another account that has come to light from the same period involving military personnel was researched by Scott Corrales at the website Inexplicata. The original reports came from a military man stationed on a beach on the Caribbean island of Antigua in 1969.
The account of the event began when he was fishing with friends at Mamora Bay. As the sun set, military personnel saw a group of people enjoying bonfires on the beach, however that particular group was involved in a mysterious ritual, creating an inexplicable symbol, and they were also seen sacrificing an animal. However, the most interesting aspect is that eyewitnesses saw something stirring inside the waves. The witness also said:
“I suddenly saw someone coming out of the water, and I was speechless. It was no ordinary diver, but a much taller person, standing over 6 meters tall, who slowly and surely walked towards the men in the circle.”
What the military saw inside was described as a mysterious figure with an angular, conical head, webbed hands and feet, and a row of bony protrusions running down its scaly back. As the group performed the ritual, the creature approached them.
One of the groups approached the creature holding a bowl containing the blood of the animal they had sacrificed, and the creature accepted the offering. Once the aquatic humanoid finished consuming the drink, it headed back toward the water and disappeared into the darkness. The military personnel was frightened by what they witnessed.

The third encounter with aquatic humanoids occurred at Lake Baikal in Russia in 1982. Navy divers participating in a training exercise in the lake reported seeing unidentified human-like creatures swimming at a depth of about 50 meters. The humanoid giants were said to be about 3 meters tall and dressed in some sort of tight silver suit with a circular helmet on their heads.
They were also said to have something in their hand. When the divers tried to chase the creatures to catch one of them, the creatures fought back and as a result three of the Russian divers are said to have died as a result of chasing the creatures. Four other divers were seriously injured after being propelled from the depths by a powerful and mysterious force, causing massive decompression injuries.
Surprisingly, this is not the only stretch of water in Russia that is believed to be home to aquatic humanoids. Several sightings have been reported around such distant stretches of water. In the same year, a reconnaissance diver training exercise was held at Lake Issyk Kul, a cold, deep-water lake in the Transiliysk Ala Tau area. Major General V. Demyanko, the head of the Military Diver Service of the Engineer Forces within the Soviet Ministry of Defense, would have foreseen the events that took place at Lake Baikal in this expedition. In 1996, while diving in the Black Sea to hunt sharks, a guy named B. Borovikov allegedly saw such giant aquatic humanoids.
He said that while diving in the Anapa region, at a depth of about 8 meters, he saw a group of huge humanoid monsters about 3 meters long coming from the depths. Possessions have been reported, such as having a milky white complexion, humanoid features, and fish-like tails.
The being in front of Borovikov stopped to watch with bulging, frog-like eyes, while another passed by gesturing with one hand. The entire group of beings advanced until they approached the humans, then suddenly fled into the darkness.
These accounts are contained in “Russia’s USO Secrets: Unidentified Submersibles in Russian and International Waters” a book written by UFOlogists Paul Stonehill and Philip Mantle, which examines these stories and others in detail.)
Are these reports just folklore or do these creatures exist?
