It’s not for the faint of heart to listen to scary stories! But for those of you who are obsessed with aliens and anything to do with UFOs or alien things, we have a story that will send shivers down your spine.
There is a possibility that one of them will happen near where you live, which would increase the creepiness factor!
You may find this story of a Women in Black and Men in Black encounter in Florida to be the most unsettling thing you’ve ever heard. A Facebook friend of Nick Redfern’s who goes by the name “AHB” forwarded this to him. Nick Redfern is a renowned ufologist and writer for the website Mysterious Universe. This terrifying encounter of AHB with Men In Black and Women In Black happened in the latter half of 2008 around late at night while he was working at the bar.
“Dear Mr. Redfern, I am interested in Forteana and the ‘high strangeness, but I have always been a skeptic and have only researched the subjects from a folklorist’s point of view. However, I did have an experience that a friend of mine said I should pass on to you, so here it is. I spoke at the IAFA (International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts) conference in March and attended a talk by a friend who talked about high desert weirdness and MIB. I told her about my experience and she said, “You need to tell Nick Redfern that!” I had read some of your blog posts about the nature of Bigfoot-like entities (I agree with you that there is more to them than an unknown ape, but I won’t digress), and I knew you had written books on the subject of MIB.”
“I was working as a bar manager at a sports bar in Tampa, Florida, and 2:00 a.m. I finished work and closed the kitchen. The bar itself closed at 3:00 in the morning, but my last few loudmouths left before 2:30. I closed the house, operated the register, and was preparing to close everything.
At about ten minutes to three, a couple came in. I told them it was closed at the moment and locked the doors behind them, paying them no attention at all (rude, I know, but after 12 hours, excuse me). When I noticed them, I started to feel uneasy as none of them sat down on the stools in front of the bar. They each ordered a non-alcoholic beer, then stood there holding their drinks, about two seats apart.
Then I noticed how they were dressed. I dress “goth” and prefer black, but these two were not goths, despite the (almost) black outfit. The man, who looked older than the woman, perhaps in his 40s, was wearing a black suit with an outdated cut. I’d say maybe 1950s style with a rumpled black shirt and a crooked black tie.”

“I would say he was about 1.75 meters tall and of a slender build. She had incredibly pale skin with blue veins underneath (I had turned on all the lights in the bar so they stood out in stark contrast), a very high forehead, prominent cheekbones, and a deep, big, bright blue.
My eyes are probably the most vibrant blue I’ve ever seen. She had thin, dry, unhealthy-looking silver-gray hair pulled back in a ponytail with seemingly random dark brown spots in it as if she’d half-tried to dye it and given up halfway through the process.
The woman, who was about 1.67 meters tall was thin and looked to be in her mid-20s, wearing a black evening dress with satin elbow-length gloves and a bright green knitted shawl around her shoulders. She had a short bob cut with bangs, though it looked like a poorly groomed wig. She had the same high forehead, cheekbones, and blue eyes as her partner, although her eyes were narrower and slightly slanted.
Neither had eyebrows. As I started to clean up behind the bar, the woman started clearing her throat impatiently, so I went to see what they wanted (I wanted the hell out of my bar). Then I noticed the stench emanating from this woman. Not only did he smell like he hadn’t bathed in a month, but he also smelled of chemicals. I used to be an apprentice embalmer and I swear that woman smelled exactly like formalin.”
“As I approached, the man beckoned me over and placed a black leather satchel on the bar, from which he pulled out several photographs and asked if I knew any of the subjects in those images. I decided to humor him (part of me suspected it must be a police investigation), but when I looked at the pictures I became truly horrified.
As I said, I’m into the goth culture here in Tampa, and as I’m sure you know, that subculture attracts a lot of paranormal enthusiasts, Wiccans, Satanists, occultists, and so on. Some of the people in these photos were my friends! Most of the photos looked taken from a hidden archive, and some of them were time-stamped and were stills from CCTV footage. As I looked over the photos, [the woman] kept looking at me and smiling at me.
I got the feeling that even though the man was talking, she was the one conducting. I have no idea how I recognized my friends even though I was ignorant and told them I had no idea who those people were. I hastened to tell them that they were closed now and that they had to leave. Note that they never sat down during this entire period.
They both smiled at me as if they knew I was lying, the man unlocked the door and they both walked out quietly. They hadn’t even taken a sip of the beer.”
“The whole experience felt like a dream and I almost thought I was hallucinating. Once those two left, I realized the jukebox was dead. I even remember what bands were playing before those two came in: Iron Maiden followed by Siouxsie and the Banshees.
This particular jukebox model cannot be turned off by the remote control; it would only stop like this in the event of a power outage or if it had been unplugged. It was still plugged in and there was no power outage. The bar closed two months later and I never saw the two of them again. There’s my event, and you’re the third person I’ve shared it with, after my friend and my wife. I would like to remain anonymous if you choose to use this in your future work, as I have a stepdaughter in addition to a wife.
Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. My experience happened in late November 2008. The bar I was working at was in a strip mall and all the other businesses had closed well before midnight except for the faux-Irish American pub on the other side of the complex. , which that night was shut down by the police shortly after 1:00 AM (I don’t think this was part of a conspiracy, as that place was destroyed at least every two weeks). I told you then I was all alone in that strip mall when my visitors arrived. “
“After receiving your reply, I contacted my former assistant manager and casually asked if they had experienced any strange occurrences involving black cars or strange phone calls. I didn’t tell him why I asked. Neither he nor I had any experience with black cars, but he told me that someone kept calling the bar on my nights off, asking for me by my full name.
These calls were only in the two weeks leading up to my date (or whatever you want to call it). No one outside of my family, close friends, or lawyer knows my middle name. It’s not even on my social security card. Both the assistant manager and the server told me that after being told I wasn’t working that night, the voice on the other end, always female, would chuckle and hang up.
This freaked me out after they said about the strange phone calls (as I said, I’m new to investigating strange facts). You talked about “gypsy women” in New York and as I read I got goosebumps. Remember how I said the woman was wearing a bright green shawl?
“The moment I saw those people in my bar, I thought, ‘Oh, she’s a gypsy,’ even though she was as pale as a corpse. That shocked me, Mr. Redfern. When you said you had many cases similar to mine, I didn’t know whether to feel relieved or horrified. I feel somewhat comforted that I’m not delusional and that others have shared these experiences, but I’m scared that they seem to be so common.
And I have a question for you: “In your studies have you ever come across people who became seriously ill after meeting these ‘people?’ Just three days after seeing them, I developed a severe bacterial infection in my legs and lower abdomen. . It was a strep infection, and the doctor couldn’t figure out how I got it. Thank you for your attention.”
“Thank you for listening and taking my experience seriously. To be honest, I hoped that I would not be disappointed somehow in that meeting, whether it was to attribute it to the pranks of police officials with a sick sense of humor or to be disappointed by my mind playing tricks on me. I am strict when it comes to asking customers for ID when tending bar;
I probably would have ID’d them if at the entrance, but I don’t recall doing that with the “woman”, who I described as being in her twenties. I don’t even remember them accepting money for their drinks. I laughed out loud when I read the article theorizing that some MIB encounters may be autistic people, as I am autistic myself (although I have never worn a fur hat).”
“I’m ordering your MIB books and wondering if there are any cases of people making physical contact with these things. I have a theory about these beings, as well as the UFO phenomenon, Bigfoot entities (except Orang Pendek; which I think might be fleshy), lake monsters, tricksters, etc.
I’m not a New Age nut who claims to feel “vibes”, but I don’t need a crystal ball to know that those things I encountered were confusing me. Anyway, I’ll read your books and be sure to let you know if I hear any more “plausible weirdos” around this area. Thank you again.” The story was over. As I said, I consider this case to be the strangest and most gruesome case I have ever investigated.”
All of this could be true as there have been reports of similar encounters with men in black and women in black all over the world. The only thing that makes a difference is that there are only a few people who have knowledge about Men In Black and can discover them among the general public, and AHB could be one of them. While the others, who didn’t know about the MIB, just think they are ordinary people.
